Managing Your Products

Your product catalog is the foundation of your business on the Randmar platform. A rich, accurate, and well-maintained catalog allows our network of resellers to easily find, understand, and sell your products. This guide covers how to add new products and edit existing ones, giving you full control over how your brand is represented.

The assistant is the most efficient way to manage your products, especially for creating new items or making quick updates.

Adding a New Product

You can create a new product by providing the assistant with its core details.

Example Prompt:

"I need to create a new product. Here are the details:

  • MPN: W1480X
  • UPC: 193905474321
  • Title: HP 148X Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge
  • Category: HP2
  • Standard Cost: 150.75
  • Weight (kg): 1.2
  • MSRP: 299.99"

The assistant will confirm once the product has been created and provide you with the new Randmar SKU.

Editing an Existing Product

For existing products, you can ask the assistant to update any piece of information.

Example Prompts:

  • To update a price:

    "Change the Standard Cost for product W1480X to 152.50"

  • To update a product description (BodyHTML):

    "Update the description for W1480X to 'This high-yield toner is designed for enterprise environments...'"

  • To discontinue a product that is no longer for sale:

    "Discontinue product OLD-MODEL-123"

Using the Manufacturer Portal

You can also manage your entire catalog through the visual interface of the Manufacturer Portal.

Step 1: Navigate to Your Product Catalog

Select "Products" from the main navigation menu to see a list of all your current products in the Randmar system.

Step 2: Add a New Product

  1. From the product list page, click the "Add New Product" button.
  2. A form will appear where you can enter all the product's details, including its MPN, title, category, cost, dimensions, and marketing description.
  3. On this page, you can also upload the primary product image and a 3D model if you have one.

Step 3: Edit an Existing Product

  1. Find the product you wish to edit in your product list.
  2. Click the "Edit" icon or the product name to go to its detail page.
  3. From here, you can update any field, upload a new primary image, or change its status (e.g., discontinue it).
  4. Remember to save your changes.
