Creating Sales Opportunities
An Opportunity is a powerful tool that allows you to create targeted sales promotions for your reseller network. Think of it as a special deal, a bid, or a temporary price reduction that you can offer to all, or a select group, of your resellers.
Creating Opportunities is the most direct way to drive channel sales, incentivize your partners, launch a new product, or move excess inventory.
Using the Randmar Assistant (Recommended)
The assistant can manage the entire lifecycle of an Opportunity, from creation to assigning resellers and products.
Step 1: Create the Opportunity
First, create the main shell for your promotion by giving the assistant the core details.
Example Prompt:
"Create a new opportunity with Bid Number 'Q3-PROMO-2025'.
The title is 'Q3 Sales Push'.
It runs from August 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025.
The description is 'Special pricing on select toner cartridges.'"
The assistant will confirm once the Opportunity has been created.
Step 2: Add Products and Set Pricing
Next, add the specific products that will be part of this deal and define their special price.
Example Prompt:
"To opportunity 'Q3-PROMO-2025', add product W1480X with a bid price of $145.00"
You can repeat this step for all products you want to include in the promotion.
Step 3: Assign Resellers
You have full control over which resellers can access this Opportunity.
Example Prompts:
- To assign to a specific reseller:
"Make opportunity 'Q3-PROMO-2025' available to reseller ID 36G8J2Z"
- To make it available to all your resellers:
"Make 'Q3-PROMO-2025' available to all my resellers"
Using the Manufacturer Portal
You can also use the portal's visual interface to build and manage your Opportunities.
Step 1: Create a New Opportunity
- Navigate to the "Opportunities" section from the main menu.
- Click the "Create New Opportunity" button.
- Fill out the form with the core details: a unique Bid Number, a Title for the promotion, a Description, and the Start and End Dates.
Step 2: Add Products and Resellers
After you create the Opportunity, you will be taken to its detail page. From here you can:
- Add Products: Search for products from your catalog and enter the special promotional price you want to offer for each one.
- Assign Resellers: Search for specific resellers and add them to the Opportunity, granting them access to the special pricing.
Once products and resellers are assigned, the Opportunity is active. Your chosen resellers will now see this special pricing when they browse your products and can apply it to their orders.
